Start your week off right with some Susty Eye Candy! This week, a lighter, sturdier cardboard surfboard designed and excecuted by a former Web programmer. We’re big surfing fans here at Susty (can you believe there’s surfing in Brooklyn!), and we love that Mike designed a snap-together frame that can be made from recycled cardboard! After printing and precisely cutting nearly 400 pieces of cardboard slats, he constructs a frame and makes it water tight by wrapping it in fiberglass hardened with epoxy resin. A completed board is transparent, letting light, but no water, through. Beautiful!
