Susty Party Supports Dave Fajgenbaum

Tonight we’re co-sponsoring a heart-felt benefit in NYC for a friend who runs an organization dealing with cancer, and who was recently diagnosed himself.

The event is being held tonight at 8:30pm at Tenjune on W. 12th Street - tickets include an open bar and treats on Susty Party plates. We recommend that people grab a ticket because it’s for such a great cause. Here’s why:

Students of Ailing Mothers & Fathers was founded by David Fajgenbaum. After leaving home for college his mother Anne Marie was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. Anne Marie passed away in 2004, and as a result of a promise he made to her, David created an outlet for college students who, like himself, were coping with a loved one’s illness or death and suffering in silence.

Now David is fighting Castleman’s Disease, a rare form of cancer that requires intensive chemotherapy. As a result, Dave has been hospitalized on and off for the last 6 months and will require ongoing medical treatment for the foreseeable future. While insurance does help with some of his medical costs, the additional costs of experimental treatments and travel to visit doctors have started to add up.

A portion of the proceeds of the event will help to cover some of Dave’s medical costs. The remaining proceeds will go to his foundation, Students of AMF, and help it continue its work.
